The co-host of the hit Discovery Channel show Dual Survival, Cody Lundin is an internationally known professional survival instructor with more than 20 years of hands-on teaching experience. With his penchant for going barefoot, braided hair, quick wit, and alternative lifestyle, along with his dynamic understanding of the physics, psychology, and physiology of survival, Cody is an in-demand speaker nationwide.
Cody honed his expertise living in the deserts and mountains with very little gear or assistance — including two years spent living in a brush shelter in the woods where he slept on pine needles and cooked over an open fire.  During his teenage years living in Wyoming, Cody frequently hiked alone into the wilderness with little gear and a piece of fishing line to improvise catching brook trout.
In 1991, Cody founded the Aboriginal Living Skills School in Prescott, Arizona, where he teaches modern wilderness survival skills, primitive living skills, urban preparedness, and homesteading. Cody also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Yavapai College and a faculty member at the Ecosa Institute, where he teaches varied survival curriculums from winter survival to sustainable design.

He is the best-selling author of two books on survival and preparedness: 98.6 Degrees: The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive (2003) and When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need to Survive When Disaster Strikes, (2006).

Both books are routinely featured in Amazons top ten listing of disaster preparedness and outdoor survival books.

In July of 2009, Cody was chosen to co-host the hit Discovery Channel show, Dual Survival, now in its second season.

A true rarity, Cody is a self-reliance instructor who “walks the talk” and lives in a self designed, “hobbit inspired”, off-the-grid solar earth home in the high-desert wilderness of Northern Arizona. There, he catches rain, transforms sunlight into electricity, composts wastes, and pays nothing for heating and cooling. Cody has been going barefoot for more than 20 years; a part of his indigenous, self-reliant strategy for doing more with less.

Cody offers two talks:

Keeping Your Ass Alive
Recreating in the outdoors is more popular than ever. This presentation gets to the heart of the biggest outdoor killers and how to minimize or avoid them entirely. Based upon Cody’s first best-selling book on outdoor survival skills, Keeping Your Ass Alive details the physics, physiology, and psychology of staying alive in a wilderness survival situation whether in the mountains, deserts, or jungles.

Doing More with Less
Doing More with Less demonstrates sustainable architecture theory and design, water harvesting, passive solar, photovoltaics, xeriscape gardening, composting and much more featuring Cody’s self-reliant homestead in the high desert wilderness of Northern Arizona. In a time of dwindling resources with an explosion of interest in “green living”, this talk is both practical and inspirational in helping reshape the paradigm of the way we view natural resources and live our lives.
