Borat:
Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious
Nation of Kazakhstan, is one of the biggest films of
2006, and co-star Ken Davitian is a big part of the
film’s success. Playing Borat’s Producer,
Azamat Bagatov, Ken gets big laughs, and stars in some
of the movie’s most outrageous scenes. Who can
forget Borat and Azamat wrestling naked in their hotel
room, in an elevator, in a crowded meeting? Another
hilarious scene features Azamat and Borat scaring children
with their pet bear.
Although many left the film thinking that Azamat is
a real person, he actually is the comic creation of
Ken Davitian, an actor of Armenian descent who has been
in dozens of films and television shows. Unlike his
gruff, crass character, Ken is an articulate, sweet
and thoughtful person, and is eager to visit colleges
nationwide to meet his fans!
In
his college appearances, Ken will talk about the making
of the film. From his first screen tests, where Ken
convinced the film’s creators he really was a
strange and inarticulate foreigner, to the guerilla
filming tactics that frequently resulted in visits from
local police departments, Ken will share it all. His
program includes never-before-heard stories and behind
the scenes trivia, as well as some exclusive video clips.
Ken will also talk of his entire career in Hollywood,
including roles in films like Holes, S.W.A.T. and A
Man Apart, and on shows including Six Feet Under, The
Gilmore Girls, and Boston Legal. And of course, Ken
loves his fans, and is happy to pose for pictures and
sign autographs. |
