Jamison "James" Green is an internationally respected leader within the Transgender movement. A dynamic speaker and compelling writer, James has appeared in eight documentary films, and received every major award given by the largest national transgender organizations. He is an acknowledged inspiration for thousands of people, transsexual and non-transsexual alike.

 

Known as an articulate champion for the legal protection, medical access, safety, civil rights and dignity of all trans people, everywhere, Jamison is a world-wide phenom.  He has spoken across the U.S. and also in England, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Australia, Taiwan, and Japan.  He has published many anthologized essays and articles, and writes a column for PlanetOut.com.  His book, Becoming a Visible Man, received the 2004 Sylvia Rivera Award for Best Book in Transgender Studies from the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies (CLAGS) in New York City, was a finalist for a 2004 Lambda Literary Award, and is being used as a text in numerous universities.

Mr. Green has been delivering high quality educational presentations about transsexual and transgender issues and experience since 1989.

 

Jamison can tailor a presentation for any corporate or institutional environment, centering around any aspect of management and employee relations, medical, legal, creative arts, social sciences or basic human sexuality isssues as impacted by the phenomenon of transsexualism to help audiences understand the universality of gender identity and the specifics of transgender and transsexual experience.

Mr. Green currently serves as chairman of the board of Gender Education & Advocacy, Inc. (GEA), a nonprofit educational organization, and on the boards of the Transgender Law & Policy Institute (TLPI) and the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association (HBIGDA). He is also a member of the Human Rights Campaign Business Council and a boardmember of The Equality Project. He was the leader of FTM International, Inc. from March 1991 to August 1999.
