Randy has been speaking professionally on college campuses since 1986. His warm demeanor, keen sense of humor, and powerful message make him one of the best and most sought after speakers on the college market today. In 2001 Randy was named as one the “Best of the Best” speakers in the 25 year history of the BACCHUS & GAMMA Peer Education Network. In 2001 and 2002, Randy was a Campus Speaker of the Year finalist from the APCA (Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities). Randy is also an active member of the National Speaker’s Association and was named as the Showcase Speaker of the Year by the Georgia chapter of NSA in 2002.

Not all campuses are the same and not all audiences are the same. As a former therapist and university administrator on three campuses, Randy understands the need to deliver different messages to different audiences on different campuses. He makes time before each presentation to meet with students and get an idea of the specific needs of each campus he visits. He then tailors his talk to meet the needs of that campus.

PARTY WITH A PLAN

Drinking doesn't have to be a problem - there is a better way!
Finally, an alcohol awareness program that makes sense! Most substance abuse education programs use scare tactics or a "just say no" approach. "Party Time!" does not. Randy incorporates his professional background as a therapist and health educator with his personal experience as a recovering alcoholic to create a program that opens the minds, changes the perspectives, and impacts the lives of students in regard to their use of alcohol and other drugs. He is well known for his teach, not preach approach to this topic. Randy uses a research based approach for making informed decisions on alcohol use. Participants will learn the tools necessary to make low risk drinking choices and lessen the negative effects of alcohol in their lives.

SELF-ESTEEM

Tapping into Your True Potential
This is the formula for better grades, healthier relationships, less stress, less self-criticism, and an overall happier life. Randy understands that 90% of the obstacles we have in our lives come from within. In his years as a therapist, he discovered a method of teaching people how to overcome the barriers that get in the way of success. This program outlines a practical method to discard self-criticism and begin to accomplish your goals in an easier and more confident manner.
(This program can be presented as a one hour keynote or half day training.)

SUICIDE PREVENTION & DEPRESSION

Out of the Darkness
On May 16, 1984 Randy Haveson sat on the edge of his bed with a knife in his hand, debating which wrist to slice open first. Everything seemed so dark. There seemed to be no way out of the mess that his life had become. There was only one solution… but something stopped him. What is it that makes some people go through with this tragic and painful decision while others are able to make the turn and reach out for help? This program looks at the issue of suicide from an experiential and educational viewpoint. Randy is very candid about his experience and what led up to that life changing day. After realizing that he had so much to live for, he has dedicated his life to helping others. Randy was a therapist for a number of years, helping young people deal with the pressures of adolescence and young adulthood. Today as an accomplished speaker, Randy will take you into the darkness of depression and bring you into the light of hope and present suggestions that could save a life.

LEADERSHIP

Becoming an MVP
The MVP is the most valuable player on any team. What distinguishes the MVP from the rest of the team? This program takes a different look at what makes an MVP and will teach you how to develop the skills needed to achieve greatness in your life. All successful companies have a Mission statement. In this program you will learn how to develop your own personal mission statement. A solid Value system is also an important ingredient in achieving success, and this program will explore how to develop and create a value system you can live by. And finally, in order to find true happiness, you must find your Passion. Do you know what you are passionate about? This program will help you uncover and discover your passion.
(This program can be utilized as a one hour presentation or half day training for student leaders. Any of the three components can also be developed into a full presentation or keynote.)

Want to Be R.I.C.H?
There’s a difference between having a lot of money and being R.I.C.H. Many people are still under the impression that financial wealth is the key to happiness and success. When the average college student is asked what they want to do with their life, a common answer is, “I don’t know, I just want to be rich.” This leadership program teaches a method that can be used to truly have everything you want in life, and is geared toward helping individuals develop their own personal code of ethics. By living a life of Respect, Integrity, Courage, and Honor, you can truly have it all.

"It was a pleasure working with you and, more importantly, I feel the students and staff who attended your presentation gained a great deal from your words and insights. I love that you don't pull any punches."
