"I love playing the bad guy in movies, because the bad guy always dies. That's the real world. If someone asked me to play a bad guy that always gets away with it, I'd pass. That's the very message I preach to youths who are in crisis and in trouble…the bad guy always loses and the good guy always wins. It's the one thing movies and real life see eye-to-eye on."
– Actor/Producer – Danny Trejo

Danny Trejo has developed a prolific career in the movie business, yet his road to success has been hard earned and anything but typical. From imprisonment to helping young people battle drug addiction, acting to producing, the name, face, and achievements of Danny Trejo are well recognized in Hollywood.

Danny grew up on the streets of Los Angeles. Despite spending the latter part of his youth and early adulthood incarcerated, Danny rose to great accomplishment. Upon his release from San Quentin, he became involved in programs aimed at helping those who, like him, battle drug and alcohol addictions.

Years later, Danny went to the set of RUNAWAY TRAIN to offer support to a man he'd been counseling. Although Danny had never thought about acting before, he was immediately offered a role as a convict. He was a natural, and this first role led to many more. Danny has since gone on to star in dozens of films including: DESPERADO, the FROM DUSK ‘TIL DAWN film series, HEAT (Robert De Niro, Al Pacino), CON AIR (Nicolas Cage) and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO (Johnny Depp). Kids love Danny Trejo for his role as “Uncle Machete” in the SPY KIDS films. Danny can also be seen in the independent films THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS and SHERRY BABY opposite Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Some of him most recent roles include Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's GRIND HOUSE, as well as DELTA FARCE, starring Dan Whitney AKA “Larry the Cable Guy”. Danny recently wrapped the HALLOWEEN sequel, written and directed by Rob Zombie. He's also appeared on numerous television shows including Kingpin, The District, NYPD Blue, The X-Files, and Resurrection Blvd. Danny recurs on the series King of the Hill and has appeared on an episode of Knights Of Prosperity starring Donal Logue, Monk starring Tony Shalhoub, The George Lopez Show starring George Lopez, Desperate Housewives and most recently Stargate: Atlantis.

Danny Trejo is a particular favorite of directors Quention Tarantion and Robert Rodriquez, and has appeared in many of their films. He also is a fan favorite on the horror/science fiction/fantasy convention circuit.

In 2000, Danny formed his production company “Starburst” where his first endeavor into producing was the award winning short AN EYE FOR TALENT, followed by THE ANIMAL FACTORY, directed by Steve Buscemi.

“Trejo 4.0 Productions” is Danny's newest venture. The company's most recent film HIGH HOPES, is a story about a group of Hollywood hopefuls who decide to steal marijuana from the FBI with the plan of returning it and using the reward money to finance their movie. The film stars Jason Mewes, David Faustino, Corin Nemec, Jason Marsden, Eddie Furlong, Robert Rodriguez, Andy Dick, and Michael DeLorenzo.

Danny's amazing life story has been told in the dvd documentary CHAMPION, available on netflix. In his college appearances, Danny will tell his story, from the mean streets of Los Angeles to star-studded film premieres. His message is a positive one. No matter how low you fall, no matter what mistakes you make, redemption and success are always possible. Danny has spoken in front of audiences ranging from Boys and Girls Clubs to Fortune 500 companies, and his story always hits home, and makes a huge impact.
In his live appearances, fans also love the chance to meet Danny personally for an autograph or photo. He also shows clips of some of his greatest onscreen moments.

Despite his impressive list of credits, it's his continual role as a devoted husband, father of three and as an intervention counselor that bring him the most satisfaction.
