It has
become all too familiar to see headlines that read "Another College
Shooting". Violence against women and minorities, and hateful graffiti
and vandalism are also all too common at schools nationwide. These
events are a clear reminder that there is an immediate need to search
for more strategic and informed action against hate and violence on campus.
Yet while action is needed, the problems of violence remain complex and
multifaceted and so the pathways toward solutions often seem overwhelming.
However, there is positive movement on this front as more and more campuses
are creating programs and reaching out to experts who understand these
dynamics and can provide support in developing new approaches to address
these issues. |
